REMINGTON J-LOCK QUESTION?

I own a Remington or two!

I have NONE with the J-Lock on the Bolt!

I know REDDOG considers it nothing more than SMOG Control like what used to be on his Ford!

Just wondering what the Pro's & Cons are of the J-Lock?

I'm not asking for Honey-Holes or Secret Info!

For GAWDS Sakes Guys,We Got Kids on this Site,Some of them are 65 years Old!

I've owned a few Rems (none with the "thingy") and the j-lock is nothing more than an additional bit of junk. I don't need it, don't want it.

The pro is: What the hell do we need or want it for?
The con is: What the hell do we need or want it for?

I don't think this "thingy" will keep me or mine any safer and only provide potential aggrivation.

One of my Remingtons has a J-Lock. The day I fired the rifle for the first time, I unlocked the bolt and threw the key in the safe. Haven't touched it since and that was 11 years ago. I don't even notice the thing. If you don't like them, for whatever reason, parts are available to replace them. mtmuley

I love carrying one of those keys to disable the guns of camp dorks....who always just throw the key in the safe...

Some get mad though....lol

One more reason I Not Need a J-Lock!
