Remembering My First Matched Set

Until 2005, I had never even thought about shed antler hunting. The first of February 2005, I was walking a fenceline in an old burn when I found my first set, and I was hooked. Some would say "not a match" because of the non-symmetry, but that year, it was thawing early, and it was obvious that the bull had jumped the fence, hit hard, and dislodged both sides! Not a monster, but a memorable event that fueled my passion!

LAST EDITED ON Jan-16-13 AT 08:36AM (MST)[p]I would say it was a set. Looking at Color, Spacing of the first three tines, and Similar curve and length of those first three........SET!
NICE JOB!

I remember walking up on my first deer set like it was yesterday, even though it was 16 years ago. Sadly I was a kid and sold the set that grossed around 178". Now days I hold onto almost anything with any size or unique sheds and get rid of the little stuff. You never know when you may find the next year's set off the same animal or even three sets. That is what makes it fun for me. The Possibilities of the connection.
