I need a new release and I was just wondering what would be a good one. I use a string loop on a 70# Mathews Legacy. I don't want to spend more than about $80. Any help?
I just purchased a new scott release. I dont remember the name off hand but it has a small hook specifically designed for the string loop and I like a lot more than the other conventional releases. it ran me about 60.00 You can also look at the tru fire releases and I think the name is bear or something. It is the same style somewhat and a little cheaper. nmhs
I use a fletch hunter by Jim fletcher releases. They can be found at cabelas for around 50.00. I have been using the same one for 13 years now with flawless performance.
I would check out the Scoot Little Goose. i love mine and haven't had the need to replace it yet. 5 yrs and thousands of arrows later I still have one in the package when this one finally gives up. I believe they sell for about $65-$75. Good luck.
I use the scott little goose and I love it. I had a hair up my hind parts a few weeks ago to try the handheld tru-ball like a lot of guys that shoot our 3 spot league. so I sacked up and spent the 159.00 (ouch). Well, to make a long story short, I shot it for two days and loved the feel and control but just could get a solid anchor like I do with my lil' goose. I have been shooting mid 290's + with it and find it to be a very easy release to master. Got it on ebay for 40.00, shop has 'em for 59.00. Awesome no nonsense release with some decent adjustment. More important than the release is the solid anchor point that doesn't change shot to shot....(duh). Good luck.

I shoot a Scott Mongoose and I have never had one problem with it. I have worked in the Archery industry for quite a number of years and Scott releases are by far one of the number one sellers, but I do feel like it is all about what fits in your hand and feels best.
ADJUSTABILITY, everyones hand is different, my hands are small so I prefer releases like the Scott little bitty goose with the rope connection, unlimited adjustment and very durable.
