Hi everyone! I hunted your great state many years ago for mule deer. I hunted up out of Pindale 2x and down by Baggs 3x in the early 90's. I want to hunt Wyoming again, I have trouble understanding the draw odds. It appears that if I wanted a region W or D license, the only way I would get it for almost sure on my first try would be a special draw = higher price. Have I understood it correctly? I want to hunt with a good chance at a buck but I want to hunt this year.
DIY public land. Not opposed to paying a moderate trespass fee though.
Any Ideas What regions I could hunt without points, I sure would appreciate.

You've obviously checked the draw odds on the G&F website for Regions D & W to make the correct comments in your post, so all you need to do is look at the rest of the Regions in the draw odds section to answer your question yourself.

Can anyone tell me where I could hunt mule deer this year with no points? Without buying a special license. NR
Thank you.

You already got the answer in post #1! Go back into the Regular Random Draw odds on the G&F website and the answer is right there for you for every Region that had 100% chance with no points.

If the quota for the region is reduced due to the winter conditions, that could change the draw odds this year. So, a region that was 100% draw last year may not be 100% this year.

The quotas will be made know during the public open houses/meetings in mid-March.

You can always get a deer tag for Region J. There's a lot of private from what I understand but there is some public as well. I'd hit up G and F and find out what outfits will let you hunt on their land paying a trespass fee. We did that one year on the grazing association. Hunted one day there and saw one pretty good buck but he was just too far away. My dad ended up killing a little 3x2. If you work hard enough, you can find places to hunt.

I believe region D is not guaranteed unless you already have at least 1 point.

Cancer doesn't discriminate...don't take your good health for granted because it can be gone in a heartbeat. Please go back and read the last line. This time really understand what it says.

To make it simple for the OP, the Regions that had more tags last year than first choice applicants in the Random Regular Draw (no PPs used in this draw) were:
A,F,J,M,T, and X. Region E had 3 more first choice applicants than available tags, so it was very close to a 100% draw. There is no way he'll hunt down in Region G for a number of years, as it takes a good 5 or 6 PPs even in the Special PP Draw to draw that tag.
