REGION W IN 82 8 DAYS

Hello again! I know the season is only 12 days long, but if I only have 7 days to hunt deer in 82, would you hunt the first 7 or the last 7?

Never hunted there, but my experience on public land has led me to try and avoid the first three days of any game season.
Unless you have three or four days to scout just before the opener and basically have a good one pegged. This let's the deer get pushed into their hidy spots where they feel safe.
Finding those spots is your best option. Not usually easy, but those spots if found can produce year after year.

Avoid week ends for sure! Especially the first one!

Stay away from the weekends. Other than that it really doesn't matter.

I like 82, but it is super crowded, especially on weekends. The bigger bucks will hit the dirt the first weekend, but the second weekend has fewer hunters.

Last year we saw 11 small bucks and about 150 does in one day. My brother-in-law was hunting for the first time and he shot a small buck. Two years ago we saw 2 does, total. Same area both years. That is why the call it hunting.

Game and Fish is looking into having two shorter hunts on 82 in the future to spread out the pressure.

Personally, I would go bow hunting instead of face the rifle hunt on 82.

Now that it's 4 point or better unless you are a youth I would hunt the first seven days. Or hunt the last seven and glass the heck out of the quaken aspens.

If it going 4 point or better the genetics got screwed! 4 point restriction will screw a unit up big time and does not equate to bigger bucks!

I have seen a couple units go 4 point or better and the end result was a ##### load of 3 points breeding and in a few year a person can not find a 4 point but tons of big 3 points!

Is this because there will be more of a chance for weather to come in? Or because there will be less pressure?

Less pressure and the animals tend to move back into some normalcy.
