Rain water while shooting.

Do I need to worry about making a shot while drenched in the rain? Will all of that water on the bowstring hamper the accuracy or effectiveness of the shot? fatrooster.

The rain would only effect you if you were shooting feathers instead of plastic vanes. Now Tempature can cause problems if the bow gets wet and then freezes. cables can stick to the cam, arrow rests/cushion plungers won't operate, and ice on the arrow can all effect your shot.

Thats why the late Wasatch frount extended season is so much fun.. if it is not raining it is snowing, freezing temps stiffen bow limbs..

I lubricate all moving parts with graphite instead of oils so nothing ever freezes on me.

Haven't personally had my limbs or cables affected but can see
it happen.
I have had my feather fletching get soaked and the arrows don't
fly good.
One thing to help with this is spray the feathers with
dry fly spray that fly fisherman use, it repells the water
well.

My old Bowtech Blacknight's cable slide would stick alittle when it got wet. It would make my arrow rest jump and toss the arrow off when drawing ( TT fallaway). Other than that I've never han any prolems hunting in the rain with a bow.
