Rain in AZ

Anyone have any idea how this rain will affect the movement of desert mulies? I'll be hunting 37A/B and that area.
Thanks!

Well you can forget about hunting over water. We got up to 2 1/2 inches in some places. The deer will be more spread out now, especially in rocky areas with lots of potholes that collect water. The real question will be how cold is it gonna get and what areas are getting green up. Find those warmer spots and green up areas and you'll find the does.

I would think everything is going to be green by the time opener comes. At least it'll be a quieter stalk.

Remember, its been dryyy dryyy dryyy here for the last 6 months. That desert is gonna swallow all that water up. But... there will be areas that retain the moisture better than others. Little bowls and pockets in the lower foothills will gather a bunch of that moisture and be lush by the first of the year. Theres always the chance that we will get more rain too. I'm guessing we'll get more but thats just a guess. Any of the areas that got good monsoons and got this last storm we had will be where the deer are concentrated. Find those spots and you'll find deer.

Here is a pic from today when my brother and I were scouting 16A.

So with tons of rain in the desert now and snow in the high country, which would you opt to hunt?
I would think stalking in the desert would be easier, but snow might help locating deer.

I am thinking of either 22 or 37b, but am open to other areas if anyone has any advice. I want to avoid crowds if possible.
I'm shooting a Bowtech Guardian and this will be my first archery hunt. I've been shooting for 6 months and am doing pretty good. Range is about 45 yards max.

Sorry, have'nt checked this post in awhile. It is upper trout creek road East of the 93 just North of wikieup
