Quiver preference?

Does anyone have advice on the best type of quiver for a first-timer? I have not yet purchased one, and am trying to decide which location I would like the most. Since I am new, I'm thinking there may be disadvantages to certain ones- what is also the best brand & quietest??

p.s. Also, is there any way to measure your poundage at home- I have turned up my bow three times, and am not sure what I'm pulling now- don't want to have too small of arrows. Thank you in advance.

I personally use hip quivers. I really like having the arrows off my bow. mine is a Lock N load made by Bateman co.

For measureing poundage, I have used fish weigher to do it, just have a buddy check out how high it goes at peak, not the best way, but works in a pinch.

When in doubt, floor it.

Diplomacy is the art of saying "nice doggy" until you find a big stick.

I would check out the FUSE line up I just bought one and really am happy with it they have a few different styles.

Thank you for letting me know your preferences. I am leaning towards the hip quiver; just trying to figure out what I will do if I end up needing to crawl!! I will also check the Fuse system out- I will also try the poundage trick. Thanks!!!

I have the Alpine archery's soft quiver in a 5 arrow version (hear they just came out with a 7 arrow). Light, very easily detachable, and is inexpensive (I paid $40).

I thought the same thing, but you won't be very happy trying to sneak through sagebrush and Nevda type shrubbery with that hip quiver! Take it from me, I learned the hard way!

I have an Alpine Archery detachable and I have mixed emotions about it... I check it alot as I'm worried it may come off in thickets -- but it's lightweight and cheap! I have the 5 arrow which seems fine -- why would anyone need 7 arrows?

Good Luck!
