Quick Spin Vanes

Just tuned a guys bow, but could not get helical to clear his prong rest. Anyone use the Quick Spin vanes with a 2 degree offset? Did they induce enough spin or equal to a helical when installed offset? Need to stabalize the arrows better, but he can not afford a new rest at this point.

Try one arrow and see how it flys if it works than get the rest done. I think it will work as long as he dosent have any major problems.

Can do but trying to save a buck and see if anyone has already tried it. The vanes are pretty spendy just to try a potential gimick or sales pitch.

It's pretty easy to convert most prong style rests into a fall away if he wants to try one. What type does he have? My 1st setup years ago had a 3D rover, the fall aways were just coming out and I wanted to try one before I bought one so I converted it without a lot of effort. I ended up using it for 2 years and it worked great.

I don't think the Quick Spin's are all their cracked up to be, I tried them with my broadheads and they flew exactly the same as the 2" blazers I'm using today. They are definitely not as durable as the Blazers or Flex Fletch vanes.

Thanks, I guess you could make it a fall away by reversing the spring and simply putting a cord on it. Will look at it and see if it will work...thanks again.

Did you try placing the ##### vane in different positions? Up, down, to the side? Sometimes that works.

Why would that matter if all three are evenly spaced around the shaft? Is not the ##### feather issue more for those who shoot traditional so they know how to orientate their arrow.? I shoot mine c%^& feather down with a fall away.

If he can't afford a fall away rest than try the blazers. I haven't seen anything good with the quick spins yet.

I have been using the 2.25 quick spins for about two years. They seem to work great for me. My budy uses the Blazers and they seem to work great for him. The quick spins tend to be a bit fragile if you get a pass through on a BLOCK target but I don't know if other vanes would hold up much better.

Shooting a Quickspin on a 1 or 2 degree offset is how they work the best, and they will shoot through your rest. Here are a few things to also consider if you have two much spin or drag on your arrow it will drastically limit your down range shooting ability. ?Spin can be two much of a good thing?. It is kind of like shooting a Flu Flu arrow. Another thing to consider is quick spins are noisy in flight, not very durable, and are expensive.

?Here is a tip not meaning to be a bash?. Shooting your c%^& vane down with a fall away rest can cause inconsistent arrow flight. The whole reason you shoot a fall away rest is to have the rest stay in the upright position as long as possible and then get out of the way at the last second. If you set up your bow properly the c%^& vane can contact your rest every once in a while if it is positioned like you are shooting.

Good luck with your bow setup.

SW..No worrys as I take it as your experience. I was shooting mine feather up, but I moved my sight lower to be able to have a 80yd pin. The upright vane would hit the fiber optics, so I just turned it upside down. Have never had one hit and POI was exactly the same. Maybe just lucky and I appreciate the opinion. I told the guy about everyones comments, and he is going to pony up for a new rest. He would have anyway so might as well get it done. Thanks for the input.
