Question for Amy

Amy-

I have heard a lot of different opinions on this issue but I was wondering if you could clarify how long it takes the DWR to charge all of the credit cards after the draw? Do they charge cards in any particular order (by name of applicant, by species, by credit card type, etc.)? Assuming it is all done via computer, it seems like the process would not take very long. However, I saw your post in the Utah forum stating that it could take 1 to 2 weeks. Obviously, some banks and credit card companies are slower to post than others. I am just asking about the process the DWR goes through. As you can tell, I am wondering if I still have a chance at an elk tag even though my card was not hit on Friday.

Thanks for the question, Hawkeye. It really can take up to two weeks. The cards are charged in batches, and it's a time-consuming process. (You've probably seen people posting about credit card hits over the weekend and today.) From what I've been told, there's not a particular order. However, there are sometimes issues with the credit cards, and in those cases, we try multiple times to reach the cardholders by phone. That also adds a fair amount of time to the process. I know it's difficult to be patient under the circumstances, but the final results will be emailed and online by next Thursday (May 31). I hope this helped answer your question ? good luck!

If your card wasnt maxed out, it might help also. Stop calling 1-800-deer tag, and you might have some $$$ for your tags. Good luck!!
