I was just wondering what the difference between the APO model of the older Leica Scopes and the non-APO model?? Is that the same as Swarovski's HD and non-HD models?? Any info would help

You are correct, APO stands for Apochromatic lenses... Swaro calls the same type lens HD, some call it ED... It all means it has fluorite lenses that most think give more precise color correction. Which is partial correct, but the APO/HD/ED/FL lenses also give better definition in low light conditions. I have had several occasions where their was a noticeable difference in APO vs Non APO spotting scopes - both were in low light, dusky conditions. If you can afford it, buy it... NJS
