LAST EDITED ON Aug-09-15 AT 03:59PM (MST)[p]hey Guy's,

I'm replacing my old lawn irrigation pump. It's got 220V power to it as did the old one. The diagram show line 1 connected to #4 and line 2 to #1 The rest of it is prewired for high voltage already. Problem is I don't know which wire (colors are old and look the same) is line one and which is line 2. Does the choice affect rotation or does it matter? Or, should I just bit the bullet and hire an electrician. Seems like it ought to be simple enough.

If You Incoming Wire is 220 Volts & I take it, it is?

You'll have 2 Hot Wires AKA Line 1 & Line 2!

It won't matter which one goes where!

Just don't get them Mixed up with the Ground Wire!

Thanks Bess, that's what I had figured. I was just worried about rotation more than anything. It's wired.

Bess is right. Gawd I can't believe I just typed that...
