I see in this morning's paper that our neighboring state of Utah has two bills of some interest being introduced in their legislature. The first would increase the statewide bounty on coyotes to $50 each. The goal is to eradicate 20,000 coyotes from the state. The one million dollar price tag for this effort is to be covered partially by increasing their license fees five dollars. The second bill is calling for a hunting season on wolves to be handled much like their hunting of lions and bears. The sponsor stated that even though technically they do not have any wolves in Utah he keeps hearing of reports of them in various places and he wants the state to be "ahead of the curve". Thought these bills may be of interest to others. Would you travel to Utah to shoot coyotes for $50?
