Posting 35mm pictures

What process do you guys take to get your old 35mm pictures onto your computer to be able to download them here on the site. I've tried to scan them to email but the picture is always small and in the corner of the screen when I try to save it. Any suggestions?

Scan them in JPEG format & upload to "my pictures" or "my documents.
Then resize them & load to photobucket.
OR
If you have the negatives, have them put on disc then load them to your computer to "my pictures", resize desired pics then put on photobucket.
OR
If nothing else works for you, take a closeup picture of them with a digital camera and upload them that way.
