I'd like to see some bucks that have been harvested in area 10. I appreciate it guys. Thanks!

Steve

My Dad killed this buck about 15 years ago just south of Wells, NV. He is an 9x7 and is 29" wide. We had just tied off our mules and were eating lunch when this buck come bouncing down the mountain right into my Dads lap. Shot him at about 75 yards.

Good looking bucks guys! I appreciate you posting them. I can't wait to get out there come September.

Here are some pictures of the bucks NVMDF and I got in 10 a couple of years ago. Without his help I never would have been able to whack my buck. Thanks again buddy!

Thanks Steve. We scouted our butts off and after looking over LOTS of bucks we felt pretty fortunate to finally end up with the bucks we did.

Here are a couple of my favorite scouting pictures.

Can you find the buck below Shon in this picture? That was cool!

Here's a closer shot of the buck laying below in the ledges. He would have been in trouble! Little feller had no idea we were even there.

Awesome pics, Wes. Thanks for taking the time to post them all. Some pretty good bucks in there. Looks like you've got the right kind of transportation up in those mountains. Thanks again!

Steve

Were those guys so excited they decided to head butt each other or what. I'd like to party with them!!!

Wes- It just clicked...the picture 4th from the bottom was sent to me last year. I'm assuming you guide in this area. You have found some great bucks. Thanks again for sharing them.

I was wondering about the foreheads of the two guys as well. Could they have both taken uphill shots at game simultaneously? That's a pretty unique picture if you ask me! I'm not sure if I'D like to party with them. Might end up in a heap of trouble....

LAST EDITED ON Jul-09-10 AT 09:52PM (MST)[p]That was a grandfather, grandson combo. They were both shooting at a group of deer and suffered a little scope bite. I told em they were easier to track then the deer. On this hunt we stayed a little too long in our high camp and almost got snowed in. I'm 6'4" and the snow was chest deep commin over the pass at 10500'
We used to guide in the Ruby's until the outfitter lost the permit because of some illegal activity.
Wes

Archeryaddict, those are some very nice bucks. I hope I can put my tag on something comparible to those.
Wes, its always good to see your puctures. I especially like the ones in the snow. fatrooster.

Archeryaddict, do you have an Eastmans magazine framed on your wall? That was a great article on you and your dad a while back. I imagine there will be a 2010 above the next picture you post. Congrats.

My 09 buck, I get to try again this year:) I actually shot the wrong buck in a snow flurry that made visibility poor as they were taking off. I didn't realize tere was another big mature buck bedded there...Hope I can find the other one this year...This old guy wasn't too bad a conolation prize...

Hahaha thanks Breacher!!! Yeah i'm hoping to get one a little bigger this year and I will post the picture as soon as possible. I've been out scouting a little this year and things are looking good:).

What is up with the "whitetail" main beams in these pictures? I've seem a few mulies like that, but of the few pictured here, there are several. Must be the the Area 10 gene pool.

whitetail mains and big 3 point bucks.

Area 10 has some high hurdles to overcome before you can have fun. The first and highest hurdle is mental. It took me twenty years of looking at the Rubies from a distance before I decided to penetrate them. My son Chris convinced me to give them a shot. This buck screwed up and gave me a look at twenty five yards. Great Day!!

awsome buck hoping I can find one like that when I hopefuly get drawn for the muzzy tag

Finally figured out how to post photos, now I'm goin' to town!

The Rubies take up most of my mule deer hunting memories, they've been good to us! Unfortunately the biggest rack is the shed my dad picked up, that said, I can honestly say we worked hard for every one of these bucks, even the forkies, gotta thank my dad for dragging out little bucks way way too far from camp/truck! The good old days, a granola bar, buck knife, tag, zip ty, red flannel and levi's, hike up the mountain a couple hours by flashlight, try to find a buck headin' back up the mountain, if not keep headin' for the top and see what you see, it was awesome, and oh so simple compared to today's program! I'm thinking about breakin' out some red flannel on my bow hunt in a couple of weeks, I'm thinking the bucks will be so confused I could just walk right up to them! Hope everyone enjoys
