Do they round the points down for NR............so if my wife had three points and my dauter had zero would that give them one each.............................................HOW DOES IT WORK...........................THANKS..................

They average them. 3+0=3/2(total # applicants)=1.5

OK, so what does 1.5 get you? Is there a category for the in between numbers and how does that differ from someone that has 1.25? I would rather they round up of down! Please explain!

Check out this link. It shows the number of points (averaged decimal values), quota, 1st choice applicants, etc.

This system is more fair than rounding up or down. All applicants with max points are awarded a tag first, then those with the second highest averaged preference points, then those with the third highest averaged preference points, ....
