Plateau antelope unit

I decided to take a break for the usual "unsucessful" letters I have been getting from Utah and drew out for an Archery tag for the Plateau / Parker Mountain unit. I have been surfing around the site and checking out peoples past successes on the unit and am getting excited for august. I was wondering if anybody who has hunted the unit in the past had any thoughts on the best way to hunt the unit with a bow. Spot and stalk vs. sitting over a Waterhole? Is there many waterholes to set up a blind on? It seems there is plently of goats on the unit but does anybody have any tips on good places to start looking? Thanks for the help.

Parker Mtn, as you said. The antelope are everywhere. You can drive around the entire mtn in a few hours and get a good idea where you would like to hunt. There are several water holes but I don't know if they are crowded during archery season. I havent been there during archery. I think spot-n-stalk would be tough because it is mostly wide open country, few bushes and terrain isn't really suitable for stalking. Waterhole is probably your best bet.

A waterhole is your best bet. There are quite a few out there. Spot and stock would be tough unless you can find them in the few hills and trees you can find.

Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave in a well preserved body, but to skid in sideways totally worn out shouting HOLY SH!T WHAT A RIDE!!!

Get to the town of Loa, head through town going South, after you get through town the paved road veers left but go straight onto the dirt road past the dump turn off and head up to the top of the mountain. You can't miss it.

My wife drew out for that hunt a couple years a go she had the time of her life. All that she wants to do now is hunt antelope. Setting on a water hole is going to be your best bet at getting a chance. Most of that country is wide open with patchy aspen tress here and there. Don't count out spot and stalk, my wife and I were able to sneak to with in 50-60 yards of a herd on a couple occasion. I think that we could have gotten close with little more patients.

Water holes are scattered all over the country as well. Farms use the country for gracing cattle and have developed catch ponds every couple of miles or so. Gets your self a good map, most of the Reservoirs/ponds listed on it will be the little catch ponds I'm talking about. When we were out there most of them had water in them.

Check your PM.
