LAST EDITED ON Feb-03-05 AT 07:10PM (MST)[p]I guess it doesn't take much, but I found this antler, which to me would have been an all time find if it had been hard brown. The part that is discouraging in that I found it on a hill that I have horn hunted religiously. I found a moose shed 30 feet from the spot last year, and gridded the area looking for the other. All I can say is that its usually early season, and must have been buried in snow all of these years when I pass through here. This picture does nothing for the antler since there isn't much for size reference. I guess you can use the pine cone as reference for mass.

Too bad you missed it for a while, but still a nice find. I don't care what kind of shape the sheds I find are in, they come home with me.

Those are sweet. Mostly like most of us, I would just die to find the perfect shed. BROWN. Every single year I pick up an old one that is jsut huge. If Only I would have walked that path instead. Thats where the luck comes in. The other amazing fact is when a hill gets tons of hunting pressure for sheds and for the animals themselves, yet the antler remains unfound. Goes to show it must not be that easy.

Old is better than never, but brown is better than old. Some of my biggest sheds are white, It just leaves you thinking, we was I about 5 years ago!!! It is even worse when you think that this year there will probably be some huge sheds that we will miss and find five or so years later, Hit the hill hard, let's try and avoid the pain!!
