bt...i've been messing around with your formula for a few days now....here are the results...let me know what you think.

first pic is when we found a small three, that was this spring's drop.. (mm member 'salmon' picking it up}

when 'salmon' came back to visit, my wife had it on the dining room table for him...

next ones are of the same three, a before pic,...and an elk shed that my son found the same day we found the deer shed...

also, bt...here are three more i just did this am...took about an hour....the elk sheds have been in my garden for at least 2 years, and the deer shed was found last spring, but it was already white...

awesome!!! I would take some steel wool now and scuff them up..really hit the tips. You may want to try a bit less stain. but I think the steel wool will pull a bit more white back in them. you can also scrub some soil in them and take out the shine. How do you think they turned out?

I think those first two sheds turned out sweeeeeet!! Good job LF. I got some more sheds to post. I been hiking this week and found a couple. I stained the one of the sets and showed them to a friend...he couldnt even tell. I will get some pics posted soon.

Great freaking job......They came out nice.Now how do I find out how you stained them? My big bull this year needs to be done,I pulled his velvet off,an would love to stain them.Daniel
