PICKIN UP STRANGERS???

Seem's it's happened quite a few times in Life!

Last Sunday Night was another one of those times!

Went up Late Last Sunday Afternoon Scoutin around!

Woulda liked to of stayed another Hour & seen what came out of the Wood Work but decided to leave about an Hour early & get things loaded back up before Black Dark!

I Dropped in to the Bottom of Rock Creek & a Guy Hails me down!

He Said:I'm sure Glad to see you!

Had A fairly Heavy Pack & a Rifle!

We Talk!

And He got turned around & Had Separated from his Partner!

They'd went in from the Kamas Side & Hiked back in to the Grand Daddy Basin/Lakes!

He asked how much further He'd have to Walk to get Cell Service?

I said about 20 more Miles!

He'd already Hike about 10 hours that day!

I Said:Jump in I'll give you a Ride to Mountain Home or Altamont!

On the way Out we decided We'd Haul him to Duchesne!

He Tried to get his Girlfriend in SLC to come & get him that night but I doubt that Happened?

I didn't get his Name but he mentioned his Buddy's name was Nick & was Probably worried about him!

Hate to just Drop somebody off who is that far from Home but I did get him back to Civilization!

Hope He made it Home OK!

Yep, picked up a lot of them over the years. Been picked up a time or two as well. Twice over the years I've come across guys so turned around I nearly had to put a rode on them and drag them to a safe place. It's amazing how goofy some folks get when they've been turned around for 6 or 8 hours. It's one thing to let a guy walk off in good weather but when it's pitch black and it's already snowed 12"/14", you're pretty much coming with me, come hell or high water!

Just Glad He was in Decent Physical Shape to Hike all the way out because there wasn't one Sole up the Rock Creek Drainage & No Horse Trailers at the Trail Head!
