Well you hear people say shoot all the brands and i couldn't agree more.I went to 3 different shops, all over a hour drive from my house and shot all the main brands.I've shot my Hoyt Fastflite for about 8-9 years and there has been a lot of improvements in that time.So i went to make my final decision today. From the bows i shot i had it narrowed down to Bowtech General,Hoyt Katera,Mathews Drenalin and DXT.So what did i go home with ?. Bowtech's 101st Airborne. The first 2 shops didn't have any and the shop owner asked if i wanted to try it before i made my decision. After the first shot i knew that was the bow i would buy.It felt perfect in my hands and i loved the draw cycle. After it was all set up i stayed and shot it for 2 hours, I didn't want to put it down.If i had to bet before i went in the shop i would have said i would have bought the Mathews Drenalin. So that goes to show if your in the market for a new bow make sure you try all the different brands and models. You never know which one will feel the best in "YOUR" hands.

Way to go Oilcan! Definitely the course most bow shoppers should go, IMO. Won't be long now and we'll expect some successful field photos with it! :)

Congrats on the new bow, Oilcan. You went about the purchase the right way. Hell, i've had my Bowtech for 2 years now, and I still can't put it down.

Enjoy, and post us some pics soon!

Good move. You did it right. Just goes to show you how archery is all about personal feel. I've shot both and I'd make the exact opposite choice you did. Doesn't mean one is right and one is wrong. The only correct choice is the one you make all by yourself. Congrats on the new shooter.

Thanks for all the comments.Coloradoboy actually i did shoot the PSE X-forse.Nothing personal i know they make a great product and you shoot one but i did not like the way it felt at all. With that said i think all the majer brands have excellent bows that would all perform very well for someone.

Great bow you picked up. I decided to buy a new bow too and ended up with the 82nd Airborne I liked the 101st too but for $20 more I picked up the 82nd. Now let see some pics from this falls hunt with your new bow.
With a 375 grain arrow I'm getting 335 fps out of the 82nd and that isn't the fast mod so I was happy with that.
