Paper tuning w/ drop away

Are drop away rest harder to tune? I installed a Hoyt Smart Rest drop away on my Trykon and can't get it to paper tune. The best I can get is a low right tear of about an inch. It doesn't seem to matter where I adjust the rest to. I changed my grip to a light full grip instead of a relaxed semi open grip and got the best results. I had a Hoyt QT 3000 spring rest on before and it shot almost bullet holes through paper. I'm shooting Blackhawk Vapor 5000 arrows with a 100gr. points and am beginning to think they are too stiff.
