I am thinking about spray painting a stainless steel remmington bdl to make it less shiny and more camoflauged. Is there any harm in doing this. Of course I would not be painting the bolt, trigger, chamber, etc.
Thanks.

I paint my coyote gun. I use HH Bowflage. I tape over the lens on the scope and paint the entire gun. Even the bolt. Never had a problem.

Don't plan on getting much if you want to sell or trade it off... but as far as painting... it won't hurt a thing. Personaly, the myth of "shiny" guns is just that the only animal that could possibly pick up shine would be birds.

chances are they have already seen or heard you before the mythical shiny barrel or action

painting your gun wont' hurt a thing.
If you decide to sell it later. Simply clean it off.
or rap it with camo tape, which is also easly removed.
