Overdraws

What are your thoughts on using overdraws on todays new bows?

Pro's & Con's?

Overdraws were an invention of the 80's and 90's. They werew a little more useful and practical when bows had longer brace heights. The technology is such now that they are almost unecessary, due to the increased speed of the modern bows.

They certainly served a purpose 10-15 years ago. With modern equipment, however, there's really no need, unless your draw length is exceedingly long (i.e., >34").

I shot an overdraw for years in an effort to decrease my arrow length and thus to increase my arrow speed. Unfortunately, this type of setup was (and still is) very sensitive to imperfect tuning and or form (especially with disturbances in your grip).

I think they are old school. Like everyone else says, they served the purpose years ago before anyone was shooting carbons. With new bow designs and the smaller diameter of carbons, I think they are just added weight.
