Anyone want to take a stab at what he might score? He is 22" wide.

I would bet around 153, nice buck, nice shot also.

LAST EDITED ON Sep-06-05 AT 09:29AM (MST)[p]With that mass and those front forks I'd say 160 ish.

Here's the story.

I was still hunting on a steep hillside when I spotted a small buck feeding. I watched him for a bit when I heard a noise and out of the corner of my eye I saw antlers, big antlers. He was only 40 yards away and was feeding is way through a stinger of tiny pines. I drew when he went behind a tree and I waited for him to step into the clear. I was shaking so bad, this was the first time I've ever had an opportunity at a buck this close with him not even knowing I was there. At 30 yards he stopped broadside and was still feeding and I released. The arrow smashed into him hard and he went down within sight. I couldn't beleive what just happened. I could hardly contain myself.

I've been archery hunting since I was 12 and am now 23 I have shot a number of does, a spike, and a forky. I dream of the next years hunt as soon as the season ends as most of everyone here does. I practice shooting, look at maps endlessly, research, read anything I can get my hands on. And for it to finally come together was an amazing dream come true.

Thanks for all the comments guys.

Riley

I know what you are saying, it's an incredible feeling when it all comes together. So what does he score??

I don't know much about scoring and am going straight off of a scoring sheet. I keep getting around 148 with about 6 inches of deductions, so around 142 but that seems small to me. I don't know if I'm measuring exactly right or what.

Riley, if I recall you are a eugene guy, correct? I am to...(also OIT grad). I can score it for you if you would like. Brian

Congratulations on a nice buck. He has some good mass and you did it the hard way! He should make a nice mount for your wall!

Oh that's alright Brian, I've got a buddy that's gonna score it tomorrow for me. I was just anxious to see what others might think it might go. Thanks for the offer though.

But ya I'm from around you eugene, veneta actually. I remember talkin to you about OIT, I have to head down for my last year here at the end of the month.

thanks again

Riley

Hi Riley....I never did figure out the pm box on bowsite, so I never did read of you responded to what I wrote last year. Brian

Congratulations!

Nice fronts on that guy too!

Great looking pictures too. Glad you took the time to pose and all. I know sometimes it gets tiresome but totally worth it in hindsight.
