Anyone shed hunting for elk horns yet? Any fresh? I usually shed hunt in April, but have a friend of a friend that claims to have found a few. I spotted a quite a few bulls still packing two weeks ago south of Pendleton.

Me too. Just checking to see if my timing was good. I can generally only go once a year.

A bunch of guys I've talked to are saying that 80% of the bulls are still packing.

Last year I picked up a fresh elk shed on Mar. 25th in OR. But I picked up another elk antler that I know shed on April 17th. So I usually try to go later, knowinng that more have shed.

Took the family over and found one brown six point and four year olds. Spotted at least ten to fifteen to still packing. Early yet. Going for a week in late April. I think ten'ish percent on the ground.
