On the Highway!

Was driving up Parleys this evening and there was a deer shed laying up against the cement barrier on the inside lane. Wasnt going to risk my life trying to retreive that one. Amazingly, not too much later I thought I also spoted a decent elk shed laying under a tree about 100 yards from the road while going 60 mph. I turned around to double check and sure enough. I'll have to retreive that one tomorrow when I have more time. Through my lifetime that makes about a dozen sheds that I've spoted from behind the wheel. Anyone else ever find their eyes wandering the hillsides instead of the road?

Don't worry about the Elk Shed!

I already got it!

It's been a long hard ride
Got a ways to go
But this is still the place
That we all call home

So does that make you a "Roadhunter?"

Have you picked it up yet? Let's see a pic of the hwy shed?

I don't think there is any other quality
so essential to success of any kind as the
quality of perseverance. It overcomes
almost everything, even nature.

i Found a 3 point shed laying on the side of I-70 down by Richfeild told my buddy to turn around he thought I was kiddin till I picked it up the things ya find at 70 pluss miles a hour.

Over the past several years, I have found at least five antlers either at the side of the road or right in the road. Also, once a small buck crossed in front of my headlights in a spring snowstorm, and in the flurries, it appeared something fell off its back. I grabbed a flashlight, and was surprised to find a small forked antler lying in the road!

LOL probably a fake antler off one of the archery targets at that shooting range in parleys.

I too have found my share of shed antlers off the hwy. My guess is that the animals are drawn to the side of the highways because when it rains the water runs down to the sides which makes it real green and causes the animals to spend a lot of time there. I dont know just my guess on why I find them there.
