NW New Mexico shed hunting

Is there anybody out there who could tell me about when to get serious looking around here(unit 2 mostly)?I believe it's still rather early for this area, isn't it?

Still a bit to early. The deer should start falling in about three weeks. The elk should start falling two weeks after the first deer. What area are you heading to?

Thanks for the info.I'm not really sure where I'll start. I'm kinda new to the area and completely new to shed-hunting.I work over around Gobernador quite a bit so I'll probably start somewhere over that direction.

where u work...there usually have herd of barbary sheep, have u try carrassa mesa (sp)

I've only seen one barbary sheep.He was just outside of Blanco.I haven't tried Carracus.Do you think it would be a good place to start?What about the La Jara country?

Try the area south of gobernator and in Lajar south of Rosa road. There is some good wintering ground just out of Blanco to the south of 64. If you cant find any good spots pm me and ill get out the maps.
