I have been reading the posts about people "hunting the internet" and agree totally that it is abused. Even though I live in Arizona, my boots will be on the ground in NV scouting to be sure!
I would however, like to ask a few GENERAL questions for those in the know about Nevada. After ten years of applying all over the west I finally drew a non-resident permit for what my research shows to be a great antelope unit. I have hunted marginal areas in Wyoming and Colorado for antelope in the past with some success (83 3/8" gross), but this NV tag combined with this year's moisture promises to be my best chance at a truly outstanding buck. I am planning to hunt the entire 10 days.
What is the terrain like? From my maps and aerial photos it looks rough!
If I am willing to go home empty handed after 10 days, is the expectation of a 85" gross buck realistic?
How difficult is it to get around the units? ATV needed?
How much pressure should I expect from other hunters?
Is hiring someone with local knowledge necessary? If so who do you suggest?
Thanks in advance for anyone willing to share!!!! ERIK
