Nubbers, love em or leave em?

OK here is the question.

Do you keep and bring home every sliver of bone that you find or do you leave some out there?

This last weekend I was getting skunked and on the way back to the truck almost stepped on the base of a small deer antler, smaller than a nickel. It had whithered away just above the base. I kept that and brought it home. At least I wasnt skunked right? I hate getting skunked. I know guys that keep everything, and I know guys that keep the good ones and leave the old, small, crappy ones piled up and left behind.

What do you guys do?

I leave em if they are really old ad pretty much fall apart when you pick them up. Here is one that I found that was scattered all over the place. It was older than dirt and I just left it lay there.

I will pick them up and pack em home even when the are in several pieces after walking all day with no luck its good to at least pack something out even if it is just a little chalky forky. YoungBuck is a witness to this, two weeks ago while him and a buddy of mine were picken up nice antlers all day, all I found was a couple of broken up chalky two points and guess what I kept them.

I keep every piece I find... I have a stack of partials that I've picked up. With blacktails around here, you are happy just finding a piece of an antler sometimes.

Depends on the spot. If it's a place I don't want newcomers hitting, I pick up EVERYTHING to help discourage them and move elsewhere.

ditto what BBB said, but sometimes i just cram them deep into the thickest shrub nearby :)

If its elk antlers I bring pick up everything. I leave all the chalky deer antlers unless I find one that is unique.

If they are so old and crappy that i have to gingerly walk so they wont break, I throw them off a cliff otherwise I keep em.
