Anyone up in Idaho's far north (Preist Lake/Bonner Ferry) area with any information on the bear activity this year or your suggestions on the best dates to hunt this year.
I've hunted there four different years, at different dates. Locals always said around the 15th was the prime time to be out. However, the past two years we hunted the last ten days of May and found very little grass, clover and scat on the roads. This was due to the heavy winters and the late snow melt.
We planned our trip this year for May 21st-30th. I'm wondering if with the 70-75% snow pack this year and the early melt if we will be to late. If need be, we can change our plans a week earlier if this would be better.
Any local help on weather, snow pack and bear activity would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Rick.
