Cabin fever is at an all time high at my place. Have they opened the gate at the base of north slope road by Bear River Lodge? If not does anyone know when they will? How about snow conditions down the back side by lyman lake and into the west fork? This mtn is my summer playground so I am itching to spend some time in the trailer real soon.

LAST EDITED ON May-09-14 AT 09:43AM (MST)[p]This is the site I use to figure the snow totals
http://www.wcc.nrcs.usda.gov/snotel/Utah/utah.html

I have family with property 7 miles up the interstate from the lodge and they recently visited and said there still is snow on the ground.

Theodore Roosevelt's guidance concerning
conservation...
"The movement for the conservation of wildlife,
and the conservation of all our natural resources,
are essentially democratic in spirit, purpose and
method."

"We do not intend that our natural resources shall
be exploited by the few against the interests of the
majority. Our aim is to preserve our natural
resources for the public as a whole, for the
average man and the average woman who make
up the body of the American people."

"It is in our power...to preserve game..and to give
reasonable opportunities for the exercise of the
skill of the hunter, whether he is or is not a man of
means."

I suspect they received a few inches of new snow last night to go with the 4 inches that fell the night before and will get some more tonight. Last I heard you could drive to the Whitney turnoff. That was about a week ago.

Gate is open, but road over the top is still closed. Took a ride up Hell hole trail 3 miles or so, drifted up good, another couple of weeks.
