Has anyone been up to the spirit lake hoop lake areas this year? I was going to backpack in and fish in the next few days and learned that at least for the sheep creek drainage they poisoned all the fish to establish native Colorado cuts. Is there any good areas that have not been wiped out? If not maybe it will be a wind river trip instead.

P.S. I am taking a calitard so anywhere with steep cliffs or abandoned mines making corpse recovery difficult would be preferred.

There may not be any Fish in the Lakes!

But there's still Water!:D

This Story happens alot it's True!
But Ya Best Hope it don't ever happen to you!

1911 that calitard you are taking happens to have a small jug of kerosene with him in his backpack. Bet you thought it was moonshine. So be very careful about insulting him as that liquid falling on your sleeping bag in the night, is not him peeing on you. It will be the start of him "lighting your fire".

Go up to Spirit Lake and camp there @ the lil' campground and then hike east over to Daggett lake.

You will be able to share bull moose and Mnt. Goat viewing with the 'cali-tard' plus catch some fish.

Take plenty of bug spray!

Have fun.
