No permit numbers before deadline!

I was looking at once-in-a-lifetime units and noticed it says "2024 Permit numbers will be set during the April RAC cycle and finalized at the May 2, 2024 Wildlife Board Meeting." Thats a week after the deadline. When some units only have 1-2 or no tags, that's a big deal. What the Gosh Darn Heck, Utah!

There's a 99 percent chance those oil numbers presented to the racs will stay the same. Those numbers come out in a couple weeks.

The Wildlife Board work session is April 9th. The suggested tag numbers will be presented then. If you listen in you can see if they question any of the recommendations.

The whole point of moving the application period back a month was so people could see permit numbers before applying, like last year. Especially when you're applying for hunts that sometimes close due to low numbers. It's wasting a year due to the hunt you applied for, being shut down. I can't sit and watch a WB meeting all day. Someone please take good notes and post them up.

The numbers weren’t final last year before the app deadline either. The difference now (starting last year) is that they post the PROPOSED tag #’s before the deadline, which is typically what gets passed by the Wildlife Board in most cases.

This is the exact same process as last year.

It is rare they will move away from the proposed numbers.
