Anyone dropping NM sheep because they make the $3K+ tag fee due on application? Doubt any residents will drop, but am thinking the op front money and bad economy will drop a lot of nonresidents out. Interest on the card monwy will be around $100, deending on your card rate.

I think alot of non res will be passing. Res odds will improve. Non res improve slightly. Still tough draw, as all sheep draws are. I will pass this year.

Im thinking most guys will still apply because they think the odds will be better.

If I remember correctly, nonresident applications more than doubled when they went to the charge the tag fee if you draw deal. Now, it is like 6000 nonresidents and 4000 residents in the pool for 18 tags. Everyone has the same odds (no nonresident/resident distinction). So, if half the nonresidents drop, 7000 instead of 10000 in the pool. Better, but don't figure on a tag just yet....
