Nikon Tripod Warranty

LAST EDITED ON Jan-04-08 AT 12:19PM (MST)[p]Has anyone ever dealt with Nikon's warranty before. I'm wondering if it would be cheaper to buy a new tripod or try to get mine repaired. Nikon wants proof of purchase but I can't find it. I bought this thing in November for my elk hunt and it already broke after only a handful of uses. Should I change or stick it out?
Any help would be appreciated.

Mine and my brother-in-laws also broke....I would not recommend their tripod. I also will not take mine in the field again, even if warranty fixed it.
