nikon rangefndr batterys going dead

I just got the nikon 550 prostaff rangefinder. I love how it works, But the battery goes dead in like two weeks,, even when Im not using it.... anyone else have this issue, or should I contact nikon????

I've an older unit, the predecessor to the 800s I believe. It has had the same battery for three years. Contact the company. It may be that it is not shutting down per the timer after a period of no use.

I have a 800,and it is fine.I think i would give Nikon a call,sounds like the batt is grounding out.Battery should last 2-4 years

I have the Riflehunter 550 and am still on the original battery that came with it a year and a half ago. It should be noted that I shoot my bow year round and this thing gets A LOT of use!
