Nikon ED 82 Spotting Scope

Anyone own this spotting scope and would like to share the pro's and con's? Looking to purchase one and I would like to hear if you've used it in the field..

i love mine but like any big scope it is heavy. I mainly use mine for scouting but it is a great scope and the 75X is very usable. I plan on buying the newer 50MM nikon to take hunting as it only weighs a pound. You wont be disappointed in the scope if you buy it.

Do you have any issues with clarity at longer distances? Do you think it compares to the higher end scopes from a light gathering perspective?

Optical clarity and light gathering will compete with anything and is better than most. It is a bit heavy and bulky, and the eyepiece is not as pleasurable to use as most other top end scopes. It's fantastic glass and underrated. I'm located in northern ut if you want to take a look.

I looked through my friends 80MM swarovski and I thought mine looked at least as good as his.
