Nikon ED 50 spotter

I have this spotter and a hunting buddy of mine is looking to get spotter for back county muley hunting. I think the ED 50 is decent as far as a light weight backpacking spotter, but its not the most powerful and crisp at full magnification a few miles out. I would say its good, but not great.

Any suggestions on a better scope that is light weight? I have had the Nikon for about 4 years and haven't looked at what has come out since.

The ED 50 is a good little spotter with great glass, but limited light gathering ability due to the small objective. I expect you will have to trade off weight for increased brightness.
