Nice trip today

Was this near Salida?

They let you ride a Wheeler to it?

Nice. I love cutthroat trout. What did you catch them on?

Eel

It's written in the good Book that we'll never be asked to take more than we can. Sounds like a good plan, so bring it on!

My Bad!

Several years ago I was in Colorado at a Lake with the same name!

Surely wasn't any Wheeler Trails to it then,I don't know about now?

How Big were the Cuts?

Eel I caught em on crawlers and used a weighted bobber to get it out there. The lake only has little holes where the weeds aren't growing and I had to pinpoint cast or get caught up in weeds (dead Lilly pads from last year. It's a tough place to fish.

DeerMadness, when I was a kid there was a creek down below our house about 1/4 mile straight down the mountain. You could jump over it most anywhere. It held sea run cutthroat trout. We just cut a Alder branch with about 6' of line and drop worms down in the holes. Many were 15-16" long. It was my first introduction to the great outdoors. Fond memories.

That sounds like Heaven Eel. Like the movie A River Runs Through It in my dream fat trout rise and take the bait. I think my summer backpacking in the Wind River Range will be fantastic.

Elka, How did you get a Visa to go to that Lake?
If you have been to the mineral lick and the plane crash....
Well it appears some one was asleep at the Colo Border..
You must have got across at Dinosaur. I know they have your picture and plate #s on the no fly list on I-70.
