Nice Herd of Elk Feeding and Running WITH VIDEOS

We saw this real nice herd of elk just outside of Salmon, Idaho. There were 30-40 head of elk. All were cows, calves, and spikes. They all looked fat and healthy. The wolves have obviously pushed them down and closer to the road. They decided to do a little running for us as well. I made a few videos of them. Sorry if they are shaky!

That is not that big of a herd really. It looks to me to be around 20. I have seen herds of over 500 but that was several years ago. Ron

A herd of 500 would be a sight to see!! I wonder if big herds like that even exist anymore? Outside of the elk refuge of Jackson Hole anyway...

Herds like that are usually heading to winter range. I saw a herd of over 200 last year. Ron
