If you want to appreciate them, take them in the field. Go early and late. Go where you need to find a needle in the haystack. Take a tripod to put them on, or at least a walking staff or tall shooting stix to steady them with and you will be amazed and how much more you will find. Simply looking at how much clearer a sign is at a few hundred yards isn't a good test and isn't why those of us who have owned high end glass for more than a season or two believe they are worth the considerable amount more they cost.
