I haven't purchased a new scope in a while. I would like one in the 4-14, 4-16 or up to 20x. I would also like to fit it with adjustable turrets similiar to those used on Best of the West. I'd like to spend no more than around $800. Thanks for your suggestions. Brian

in that price range, Leupold or sightron, before you lagh at the sightron, look on the long range forums.

I am in your same boat and I have decided on the Zeiss Conquest 6.5x20 with mil dots. Will run you about $900
Good luck on your decision

Thanks, I was looking at the Zeiss also. I haven't checked out the Sightrons yet. I would like to put the adustable turrets on them.

I am going to put on the custom turrets from Kenton Industries as well. I have done alot of research and I think that is the best scope for the $. My buddy has one on his 30.378 and I have blown up milk jugs at 1000 yards with it myself, so I think that is good enough for me. Make sure you get the one with the target turrets and I think having the mil dots are worth it too. If you dont need mil dots and are from Utah, Sportsmans Warehouse in Provo has one right now on clearance for around $750.00 plus tax I think. I have a gun dealer I buy from that can get the ones with mil dot for about $900 OTD. Let me know if i can help and feel free to PM me. Good luck.

I just bought the Zeiss 4.5-14x50, new, from cameralandny.com They sponsor this site and are great to work with and a great price. I got the 50mm objective because it has more vertical adjustment than the 40mm. I got the target turrets and #20 plex reticle. I don't plan to get the custom turrets, I can get by with moa markings and that way I can change loads any time. Of course, if I settle on a single load, like I usually do, I might change my mind. I also bought a Sako A7 to put it on, but its not here yet. I had planned on a 7mm Rem Mag, but got a .300 WSM instead. They have almost identical ballistics for the 30 cal with 180 gr bullets vs. the 7mm with 160 gr bullets. I considered the mil dot, as a backup to my rangefinder. But if I can't range it, I won't shoot at it over 200 yards. I also liked the Leupold VX-3 and the Mark 4, but I think the Zeiss was a better value and I liked the feel of the turrets better. I really liked the Nightforce, but it weighed twice as much and cost twice as much. Good luck

Sounds like some great advise on some great
glass above. Bet it's awsome stuff. The
6.5 - 20 Leupold is a whale of an awsome
peice of equipment. Had great luck with them.

The others mention'd may be better, just never
messed with them personally.

Sho'would like to though.....
