Hey guys-

I just had my first debute of a show with the Outdoor Guide today. It was on the Outdoor Channel at 11:30AM eastern, 9:30AM mountain. It will be on again at 8:30PM eastern, 7:30PM central, 6:30PM mountain, and 5:30 pacific Friday night.

If you get a chance and get the channel, check it out. I do have a couple of opening left this fall. This will give you an opportunity to see what you would get.

Jim,
I saw the show this morning and really enjoyed watching. Two nice bucks taken but that first one was a dandy. Looked like a great place to hunt with the kind of terrain and cover to get pretty close.

I drew my first antelope tag this year in Nevada 075 and I would like to use a muzzloader even though the season is any legal weapon. Do you guide hunts with muzzleloaders and do you think it will limit my chances at a decent buck? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

Oakbuck-

Yes, we'll take you with a muzzlegun if that's your choice and we will do our best to get you into range. Here in NM, the state allows in-lines and scopes and as you know, they are pretty much single shot rifles. I hunt with them and really love them. There is a public draw hunt that is in GMU 52 on the northern border that is limited to ML's. There is another south in GMU 29. The deadlines for application has passed in 2004. However, if you choose a private land with and landowner permit, you may use any weapon. I have 2 openings remaining on a ranch south of Tucumcari. The ranch is 13,000 acres and is limited to 4 hunters.

I'd be happy to talk to you further at your convenience. Shoot me your phone number (PM) and I will give you a call.

Jim

Jim, glad you got some air-time on the Outdoor channel. The above posts are a part of whats great about this board. You two hook up and have a great hunt and talk more people into coming onto MM to help Brian grow and make a few nickels off this great gathering spot.......... Thanks, Allen Taylor......

Thanks Allen-I'm working on getting Brian out here to look for a buck this fall as well. I plan to all I can to help out this great site. Jim

Sorry Michael....we got it booked a while back. I did luck out and was alloted an additional landowner permit at Roy. It'll be for sale in the Albuquerque Journal this weekend as a simi-guided hunt. This is on the place we did the Outdoor Channel segment last fall. If anyone out there is interested in this hunt Aug 21st-23rd, shoot me a PM. Jim

LAST EDITED ON Aug-01-04 AT 06:14PM (MST)[p]Just got word today from a (1) client that he will be unable to make the antelope hunt at Roy, NM Aug 21st-23rd. I will sell the landowner permit. The permit can also be used for Sept 18-20. This is a UW tag meaning that transfer of ranches is available and there are several UW ranches in this unit. I am asking $1,000 but will agree to a 10% discount for MM members. If anyone is interested, shoot me a PM. This is GMU 45 and is one of the ranches filmed on the Outdoor Guide Show that just aired. Thanks-Jim
