I plan on heading to Idaho this fall to hunt elk. I need to purchase new arrows because my current arrows are under the 400 grain minimum for Idaho. I currently shoot Gold Tip Hunter XT'S. What are some of your preffered arrow choices? Just thought I'd ask before I go out and make a purchase. THANKS!

Legacy,

Good news Idaho dropped the 400 grain minimum this year, stick with your arrows they are the best anyways!!

Really! I was going to check just in case, but I didn't think it would happen! That's great news! Problem solved...I'm going elk hunting!

I would suggest there are different reasons for increasing the arrow weight, think about the animal you are hunting. You would be better served moving towards a 450 grain arrow, especially if you end up with a quartering shot.
I would suggest the Carbon Express Terminator Select at 10 gpi or Hunter selects at 12 gpi.
Just my opinion.
Good luck with the hunt

I agree, A heavier arrow would probably be better. I'll keep my set-up "as is" for now. I've had great success in the past here in Utah. Hopefully that will carry over into this falls hunt in Idaho.
