I will try to explain this the best I can. I manage a dodge service dept, so I spend a lot of time road testing cust cars. one year ago I "thought" I spotted a fresh horn laying off the freeway in a small draw, it was hard to see for sure at hwy speeds, and not in a safe place to pull off to look......so for a year I have looked at this dozens of times at 75mph,,,,I finaly talked myself into it being possibly a leg bone off a road kill,,,,untill last week I glanced up there, and noticed it was getting white.. still unshure.. yesterday I decided to slow down for a better look...HOLY CRAP>>>>> after work I made a quick dash out and here is what I found... they were only 30 yrds apart.... AND YES Desertflinger, you and all the guys working at SRCI have been driving past them every day!!!!

I'll bet you trust your instincts a little sooner next time! Sweeet find!

I had a similar incident happen to me several years ago. I spotted what appeared to be a shed about 50 yards off the interstate as I blazed by @ 80mph. When I got to work I couldn't concentrate on anything, so I told my coworker that I had to run out for a little while. When I got back to the scene you can imagine my surprise when I found that it was actually a 190-class winter/hwy kill! I'll try to remember to post a picture of it.

I found my largest shed -94 inches- while going 75 down I-25. My laborer thought I was one loco gringo when I slammed on the brakes, backed up, grabbed it, and screamed like a girl running back to the truck.
