Here's the deal......I recently just purchased a new custom winners choice string for my 2002 Bowtech Patriot. The strings came and the packages had the lengths on them that matched my bows specs for both strings...So I have a local archery shop put my strings on and put a new peep on and my new Trophy Taker rest. The peep is the same length from my nock point(measured from old string) and I paper tuned the arrow to shoot a bullet hole. Well, I started to sight my bow in starting at 20 yards. I shot about 4 1/2 feet low...Didn't make sense??? Shouldn't it have only varied maybe a few inches? So I dropped the whole sight down(by the way it is a SpottHogg SDP7) as far as it goes (about an inch from where it previous was with the old setup)...was still shooting a foot and a half low. So I drop my top pin down as far as it will go and still have room for my other pins and I was shooting about an inch low. What's the deal? I have a few ideas what may be wrong, but wanted some other ideas what's the problem....I have two theories: 1) The string winners choice made me was a little longer than what I needed. 2)I may have to have my string twisted a couple of times to tuen to the bow. The reason I came up with these is because I have also lost about 5-6 lbs in draw weight and some speed.......Any suggestions may help.

I have been to 4 different bow shops and have varying answers as to what the problem is from nock point to peep location to rest to sight. All are stumped as to what to do. I thought I would throw this out to all you bowhunters to see if any of you has had this happen. Could it be the bow? Possible crackes in the limbs? (Have looked and they seem fine-I am shooting great groupings). I am shooting same arrows (Black Maxx's 27")

Is a new bow in order??????

You would have to compare your ATA lengths, brace height etc and make sure your bow is in spec. Also check your marks on your cams. Hopefully you took it to a bowtech dealer who would know how to set it up. My guess is they took the strings out of the package and took the paper clips off them and they never checked the length so you may have the wrong length strings or cables that may need to be twisted to correct length or sent back. Something isn't at the right measurement causing the drop in poundage and low point of impact if your bow was in spec to start with. Good luck!!

I bet your string is to long.
Did they change the BUS cables?
Did they mess with the poundage on the bow?
Most important there is a modular unit in the cam, if that does not get set correctly your set-up will be all out of whack.

It really sounds as the string is to long affecting your draw length and the poundage is off.
