So I have me and a buddy have purchase preference point for Wyoming with year and im looking for a little help. My buddy has knowledge of hunting region G for deer in the past. So I think this is where we will be putting in for deer next year. My question with that is.... how many PP does it take a non resident to draw Region G?

My next question is in regards to antelope. We both have a one PP each for antelope. im not worried about seeing any really big ones but im more concerned about access to public ground with numbers of antelope on it. Is there any units worth putting in for? or should we just keep building points? We are both new to antelope hunt/drawing. If you would rather Pm that's fine. I would be also willing to share some of my thoughts on Utah hunting

31incher,
I have been looking at the same area for my boys to draw a deer/antalope tag. unless I am missing something most units in that area will require 3-5 antlope points to draw. your best bet might be to try for a doe antelope tag/buck deer combo if you are wanting to go with in the next year or two.

400bull

This year you could draw G with 3pts in the special draw and I think it took 4 in the regular draw.

As far as antelope there are units you could draw with 1pt in the regular or special draw. If you put in for the special it would give you more options.

"Go hunt for meat at Walmart."

I see. Well more worried about the deer tag. I don't need to draw both in the same year. The antelope I can just keep building points.

You won't draw G in either the regular or special without at least 4 PPs next year according to the draw odds on the G&F Website.

Draw odds showed 98.92% WITH 3 pp for the special draw for 2014.
I'm guessing 3 PP in 2015 will give you at least 50% odds.
So I'm not understanding where Topgun gets his last statement from. Unless I'm missing something.
Maybe someone can enlighten me.
In all reality, we have absolutely no clue what the point creep will be. All we can do is guess.
Draw odds only give you info for this year and numbers could be completely different for next year. I would guess with 3 PP in the special draw and at least 4 PP for the regular draw are what you need to have decent to good odds of drawing in 2015

I was in a hurry when I made that post and should have added with 100% surety. Some, and maybe even a decent percentage, will probably draw with 3PPs. My statement, like you briefly mentioned, is figuring that point creep will take it to the 4PP level to have a 100% or close to 100% chance to draw that tag next year. For example, I'm going to burn my 6PPs on it next year. If any decent number of people do the same thing with 3 or more PPs that haven't been putting in for the draw there in years past it may go up to a higher PP level for a 100% sure thing to draw it in 2015. That's just an educated guess from watching all the odds closely over the 8 years that NRs have been playing the PP game and that's what a lot of the draw odd stats require.
