Hey all,

So I put a Trophy Ridge Drop away on my bow about 4 months ago, and loved it at first. After about 100-150 shots through it, it became noticably noisy, making a very distinct tinging sound at the shot. I took it in to the dealer and they gave me some pointers on how to quiet it down, and it worked. Well now, after another two hundred shots or so, it seems that it isn't droping away nearly as fast as it did becasue all of the sudden I am not getting vane clearence. I thought this was a good rest, andfrom what I have heard from others, it is for them. It is not working for me though. I want to put a new rest on my bow so I can continue to get ready for the bow season opener in about 5 weeks. I also haven't got a tone of money to spend on one, but want a quality rest that will last a while. The Trophy Taker Pronghorn, Sims Shadow Rest, and the Spothogg Whammy are all in my price range. Any recommendations on which one is the best, or are there others in the 70-90.00 range that I should be looking at? Thanks.

Ive got the Rip-cord drop away, it can lock into the upright position before the shot and has a total containment feature so the arrow wont drop off if you are stalking with the rest up. I like it so much I put it on my backup bow also, right about $80. Good luck.

Went from the whisker Bicuit to the Drop zone because the whisker biscuit was consistently pulling my vanes off of the shafts. I still have the WB, and might go back to it, buyt I would rather have a fall away of some sort. Thanks though.

I've used the trophy takers on several bows and they are good, but i think they are a bit overated and overpriced. I think simple, quiet and reliable is better. Most of the rests out there are equal. Ive been happy with the cobra diamondback dropaways, simple and inexpensive, got 3 of them no problems. Some archery shops and Sportsmans Warehouse will ley you try them before you buy.

Dont think im crazy for using a Cobra, but they've been working.

Send the Trophy Ridge site back to them or call them and they will tell you what to do to fix your problems. It's a great rest. Mine is bulletproof and dead silent. Don't give up on it, it will only cost more money.

I just switched to a Wisker bisquit with my new bow. I love it so far. I like the ablitiy to walk through brush and not have the arrow fall off the rest.

I have use the Trophy Taker on my hunting bows for a few years now and they are great. I also don't see much difference in the Cobra Diamondback and it is cheaper yet, it even seems more adjustable(easier).

Thanks guys for all of your suggestions. I went to Sportsmans's today andhad the Trophy Taker put on it. I brought it home and put a couple of dozen shots through it and am really liking it. Good luck to all of you this season, and thanks again for the input.
