just got off the phone with a rancher, i was calling to see about hunting sheds on his place..
at first he had a fit, going off about four wheelers.
he said shed hunters were the most lazy disrespectful bunch hes ever seen , and getting worse every day..i mean he was pissed!!!
this guy in the past has been very good about letting folks hunt birds sheds and deer on his place, in the last 16 years i have never seen a locked gate on his place..
now he has them all locked and no trespassing signs everywhere.
he said the one and only reason for it is four wheelers running all over leaving scars & ruts all over the hills.
after he got over his rant and mellowed a bit, he said for me to come by his house and get a key to the gates..
that really blew me away considering where the conversation went earlier..
this ain't no ordinary place to hunt sheds it is the wintering grounds for one of the most highly coveted draw areas in idaho.
and nobody has been in there since January 2nd..
he also went on to say that the bird hunters are getting almost as bad with there four wheelers, so hes just gonna let a select few in from now on..
on one hand i am happy about the whole situation..
cause i am one of the select few.
but on the other hand i am sad & pissed that a few gomers can screw so many good folks out of a good thing..
it makes me wonder how many other locked gates i will have to encounter in the future because of the FEW jerks that have no respect..
i dont want nobody thinking this is a four wheeler bashing thread cause it ain't,, i have nothing against em. in fact i have one... IF they were used in the right manner this land would still be open to all..
